Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) continues to organise training programs to African countries in the field of water and sanitation. In cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), a 1-week short course program and study tour related to water and wastewater management, treatment and technologies was organized between 9-13 July 2018 for a group of 10 officials from African water and sewerage authorities; namely Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company, Uganda National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Malawi Northern Region Water Board and Somalian Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.
The program aimed to share the Turkish knowledge and experience by means of lectures in planning in the water sector, integrated water resources management, drinking water and wastewater treatment technologies, design of septic tanks, etc. as well as visits to treatment plants. A special session was organized on the last day of the program to discuss the current water and sanitation problems and possible measures in the countries followed by the handout of certificates to the participants.
