SUEN participated in Stockholm World Water Week
World Water Week 2017 was held between 27 August – 1 September in Stockholm under the main theme of "Water and waste: reduce and reuse". During the week, SUEN organized a panel titled “Journey to a world free of untreated wastewater” under the leadership of UNU-INWEH and with the participation of water experts from IWMI and UNU-FLORES.
The problems encountered in wastewater management were discussed in the session, which was attended by Burcu Yazici as a panelist. It is stated that the selected treatment processes/technologies cannot be adequately activated because of the data on waste water. It is underlined that the regional requirements should be considered in the selection of the technologies to be applied. Moreover, the importance of the capacity development efforts for the effective wastewater management should be emphasized in the interest of waste water recovery and reuse.
