SUEN team received training on “Theoretical and Applied Hydrometeorological Modelling” from Prof. Yurdanur Ünal and Dr. Elçin Tan of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics Meteorological Engineering Department.

The training programme covered the subjects of Climate and Natural Climate Change, Human-induced Climate Change, Future Scenarios and Earth System Models, Introduction to Climate Modelling and Regional Climate Model Example – RegCM. The training also covered Basic Linux Training, RegCM Installation and Sample Climate Simulation, and Visualization of Model Outputs. The training gave an introduction to basic climate components, relationship between land and atmospheric conditions, precipitation and temperature changes and climate change and taught the participants how to develop a climate change model for a given region.
