Our Ministry Attending the 10th World Water Forum

The World Water Forum is the largest international event in the water sector that gathers various stakeholders, every three years since 1997. The 10th World Water Forum, under the central theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity", is held in Bali, Indonesia between 18-25 May 2024, with the aim to be a platform for sharing innovative ideas and discovering sustainable solutions. The forum agenda covers a wide range of topics related to prosperity, water for people and nature, disaster risk reduction, governance and cooperation, sustainable finance, knowledge and innovation. The forum proceeding under three processes (political, thematic and regional), hosts a total of 123 sessions, including 20 high-level panels, 89 thematic sessions and 14 special sessions.

 

Our Ministry is participating in the 10th World Forum with a delegation consisting of Turkish Water Institute, the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and the General Directorate of Water Management, headed by our Deputy Minister Mr. Ebubekir Gizligider. The delegation actively participates in 14 sessions as speakers or moderators. Deputy Minister Mr. Ebubekir Gizligider and SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca attended the Ministerial Conference held on the first day of the forum in which Mr. Gizligider gave a speech about our country's water policies and vision.

 

 

The Forum also hosts numerous side events, and in this regard, a side event was organized on 20 May 2024 to present the "Water Efficiency Campaign" carried out by our Ministry under the auspices of First Lady Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, in which the opening speech was delivered by Mr. Ebubekir Gizligider.

 

 

On the margins of the forum, the delegation also meets with the representatives of the international organizations to evaluate potential collaborations on water issues.
