SUEN participated in the Baku Water Week held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on 13-14 March 2024. SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca attended the high-level panel on the first day of the conference and shared our country's strategy and policies in the field of water. The panel included Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency Chairman Zaur Mikayilov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Umayra Taghiyeva, Executive Director of the International Water Resources Association (IWRA) Callum Clench, UNDP Country Representative Alessandra Roccasalvo, FAO Country Representative Nasar Hayat and Deputy Director General of the International Organization for Migration Daniels Ugochi.

In the bilateral meetings held with Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture and the Chairman of the State Water Resources Agency, our country's experiences on water were shared and the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.

Following the conference, a visit was made to Türkiye’s Ambassador in Azerbaijan, Mr. Cahit Bağcı, at the Embassy office, and the sharing of knowledge and experience between the countries on water was underlined.
