The monitoring of viruses and pathogens in wastewater, which continues under the coordination of SUEN, was shared on national media by SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca and the coordinator of the project, Prof. Dr. Bilge Kocamemi.
Detailed information about the importance of the studies conducted under the One-Health approach that serve as an early warning system in the surveillance of diseases that threaten human health, and the developments at the national and international level were conveyed to the public.
The One Health approach has emerged to address complex global health problems at the human-animal-environment interface, coupled with inter- and trans-disciplinary involvement, and transnational collaboration.
It was also highlighted that SUEN will coordinate a high-level panel on "Towards a Global One-Health Approach in Public and Environmental Monitoring" as part of the 10th World Water Forum, the world's largest water event, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia from 18 to 24 May 2024.
