SUEN President Prof. Dr. Lütfi Akca represented Türkiye at the 85th Board of Governors’ Meeting of the World Water Council held online on November 28th, 2023.

At the meeting, where Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council, made the welcoming speech, the developments regarding the political, thematic, regional and cross-cutting processes of the 10th World Water Forum, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia on 18-24 May 2024, were discussed and the members were informed about the next steps of the 11th World Water Forum to be held in the year of 2028. In addition, the participation of the Board members in the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 28) to be held in Dubai between 30 November and 12 December 2023 was discussed.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to hold the 86th Board of Governors meeting in Istanbul on 16-18 February 2024, and Prof. Dr. Akca expressed his gratitude as the hosting country.
